9/25/2020 week of Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2020
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
On Monday, September 28th and October 5th our students will be taking the Fall iReady Diagnostic. This diagnostic is given every year to students in math and reading to help us determine students strengths and needs, placement, and growth throughout the year. For more information about iReady testing at home, please click here. We encourage all students to start the test during independent learning time from 8:40 - 10:00am so they can progress at their own pace and take breaks throughout the day. To help students we will also provide support throughout the day starting at 10:00am in 1st Period. All students will attend class at the normal PLC Monday times, but they will log-in to their 1st Period teacher during the usual 2nd and 3rd Period time slots to ensure students get the assistance they need while testing. Other Helpful Information:
Thank you for help as we navigate this diagnostic remotely for the first time. Once again, our staff will be available throughout the day to assist students through their first period class at 10am, 12:50pm and 2:10pm

9/18/2020 Week of Sept. 21 - 25, 2020
Greetings Cascade Families! I'm so happy you are here and getting to know the new format for the Principal's Newsletter. This is a place where you will receive weekly updates on the happenings on campus, get to know our staff a little through short video introductions and informational videos throughout the year. This is also a place where you will learn all about our upcoming events, holidays and special days on our campus.
Why a blog? Great question! Our goal is to be more dynamic in what we are sending out to you as well as allow you a place to return to as needed to keep up on the goings-on at Cascade. This format allows us to share videos, files and links more easily and in a, hopefully, more digestible format. In the near future I hope to add a translation feature to this site to help make our content more accessible to our multitude of families speaking various languages at home. So, what's going to be in this thing? Know that this letter is a combined effort of our staff at Cascade and we will seek to keep you informed in a way that meets your needs and is a fun way to keep up with what is happening at Cascade and in Auburn School district! Each edition will include upcoming events, two or three staff videos and important reminders about school and district resources! We expect this format to evolve as we get better at this whole blog thing. Know that our goal will always be to provide you with the information you need while trying not to overwhelm you! What's this theme thing I keep hearing about? So glad you asked! Please make sure to watch the video if you haven't seen it yet! Our goal is to showcase how awesome our students and staff are this year and how Spartans shine in all aspects of life! We are proud of who we are as a diverse community of learners and we want everyone to know the many, many ways it is #ourtimetoshine at Cascade!
