3/17/2021 Email text - hybrid return update #1Cascade Families, I’m excited to be able to start sharing with you all of the information and details you’ll need for us to safely welcome students who have chosen the week of March 29th. I’m going to slowly give you information so you have all you need to know but don’t get overwhelmed. Today, I’ll start with some general information so you clearly understand what school will look like for both hybrid and online kids. -First…if you committed to the Hybrid model you MUST fill out the acknowledgement form in Family Access. Your child will not be able to return if that isn’t completed. Directions can be found here https://www.auburn.wednet.edu/Page/22670 -HYBIRD - We are aiming to notify you by the end of this week whether your student is in the A or B group. Due to all the limitations with the health guidelines, there will be no option to choose or switch your placement in group A or B. Assignments were created based on transportation and keeping secondary siblings on the same A/B schedule. -The school schedule for ALL students is attached. Hybrid and Online students will all use the same daily schedule. Just as it is right now, the Monday schedule is a bit different than the rest of the week. Lunch assignments will be finalized and sent out soon – please note that the window for lunchtime will be assigned for BOTH Hybrid and Online students due to some teachers being assigned to both online and hybrid classes. -Monday for ALL students will be online. It will look very much like Mondays currently do. That schedule is attached. -Tuesday - Friday
-Lunch will be served at school in person for hybrid kids, and breakfast will be sent home for the next day and should be eaten prior to arriving at school each day; both will continue to be served for online and/or hybrid kids on their off days in the current location. -Buses will be running for hybrid kids. More info on routes/times soon. -The first A/B rotation (Tuesday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 31) will be 6th graders only. This will allow us to acclimate our newest students to the school building they’ve never been in yet. 7th/8th graders will continue in the current online model on those two days – more details to come from teachers as the date approaches. -There will be no regular classes on March 26th or March 29th. These are transition days for teachers to prep for the move to hybrid; teachers will provide asynchronous work on those days and may hold a short meet during the morning using the Monday meet schedule to take attendance OR they may assign work to count for attendance for that day; individual teachers will determine and communicate their plan with students. -On Thursday, April 1st all grades A group will attend, on Friday, April 2nd all grades B group will attend. The next week the new “normal” hybrid/online schedule will begin for all students. Hopefully this provides answers to some of the questions that are circling around your mind right now. Much more to come! Keep watching for emails from me with all the info leading to our return.
